Airspading (root excavation) keeps us very busy each year. As the picture shows improper planting and improper mulching will cause problems where your tree can become root bound and eventually die. Another term commonly uses is “Girdling Roots” or strangling roots. This happens as the roots wrap the trunk and as both expand eventually they strangle each other.
